We Love Food and Clothing Donations
The food we distribute comes from many areas. We get donations from retailers, wholesalers and the food industry as well as from community members. We partner with Food Gatherers and Forgotten Harvest for items that are not donated. Contact us if you have food to donate. These contributions are vital to the success of our mission. Donations are accepted from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Thursday. ITEMS LEFT OUTSIDE AFTER HOURS WILL BE DISCARDED.
We are currently in need of "gently used, clean" children clothing. Items can be dropped off at the east side of our warehouse located at 401 S. Washington Street in South Lyon. Drop off times are on Wednesdays only from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. We are currently accepting Fall clothing items but we especially need clean blankets, sheets, and bath and kitchen towels. We are also in need of socks and underwear for men, women and children. Plastic children hangers will also be accepted.

Active Faith, working with J. D. Beaver Company, will donate the money received from your scrap metal to Active Faith Community Services. Take your scrap metal to J. D. On Saturday, September 23, 2017, volunteers gathered at Riverbank Golf Course for a thank you luncheon. The food and company were wonderful. Thank you to all the volunteers that give their time to help those in need.
Many businesses, schools and individuals have done "Food Drives" to supply our pantry for the bi-monthly distributions. We've put together some ideas to help you have a Successful Food Drive Event.
Should I notify Active Faith first?
Yes, we'd like to help or suggest things that others have successfully done holding Food Drives. We like to be prepared to receive your items when you drop off. Prior notice helps us get ready.
Who do we contact and how?
You can email us your questions from the contact us page or call 248-437-9790 and we will respond on an Active Faith work day. (Monday, Wednesday, Thursday from 10:00 a.m to 5:00 p.m.).
GROW A ROW
Active Faith is calling on individuals and/or community groups to "Grow A Row" of vegetables in their home garden, to be donated to Active Faith and distributed to people in need. When crops ripen, growers will deliver them to Active Faith. These fresh, locally grown and nutrient-dense vegetables will then be distributed to Active Faith clients on the 2nd and 4th Mondays of the month. Please join us in combating food insecurity and in nourishing families and children in our community.
Sponsor a Shelf
Active Faith Community Services is seeking your help in keeping our shelves stocked for the families that we serve twice a month with our food distribution. For $300 you can Sponsor-A-Shelf at Active Faith for a 3 month period of time. A sign with your name and/or logo will be placed on the shelf that you sponsor. After the 3 months you can renew your sponsorship.
We are very grateful for your efforts and want to make it known how important it is to help feed the needy families in our community. Please contact us if you want to sponsor a shelf.
