Stamp Out Hunger
During the annual Letter Carriers’ Stamp Out Hunger®Food Drive, on May 12, 2018, community members placed non perishable food items at their mailbox for pick up by local postal carriers. Active Faith Community Services received 9,489 pounds of donated food as a result of this recent Postal Service Food Drive. The South Lyon and New Hudson communities were extremely generous in donating this food. Many families will benefit from our fully stocked shelves and our ability to offer them assistance in their time of need. We are pleased to be able to continue to serve the South Lyon school district in such a blessed way.
Many thanks go to the Postal Service workers who participated in the food drive and to the area’s residents who donated to this national hunger fighting effort. This event is like a hug from our community to our neighbors in need.
